NBC/Universal Adds High-Tech Effects to New Prime Time Series "CHUCK!"

For Immediate Release

Hollywood, CA. August 6, 2007--"I'm a computer nerd. I don't have abs..." is certainly one of the more memorable comedic lines delivered by "Chuck" [Zachary Levi] during a debauched attempt to break-into a secret vault via a "Mission Impossible" wire harness, there is no denying the visual effects that add to the scenes authenticity and production value. The custom laser and atmospheric effects were created by Hollywood, CA based RPI Entertainment & Media Group.

The producers and director of "Chuck" hand-picked the effects wizards at RPI Entertainment to deliver the highly-specialized visual effects with little preparation and a quick turn-around for the new prime time series which premieres September 24th [8pm/7pm Central] on the NBC Television Network.

"Among the effects was the tricky task of creating a large laser grid across the scene's vault floor." Says Jeremy Vargus, Managing Partner and Show Producer for RPI Entertainment. "Our effects team had to create bright and fat multiple laser beams that zigzagged across the set and that would appear on film. The team accomplished this by a series of custom-made optics that widened the laser beam while keeping the size and brightness consistent throughout the pattern. In addition, the effect had to be delivered on a very brightly lit film set that couldn't use heavy fog effects that would cloud-up the picture."
